Yesterday morning we held a Coffee Roulette breakfast, in celebration of Women in Engineering Day.
We enjoyed some delicious breakfast goodies and then gained some awesome insight from our expert panel. Important topics were discussed, including finding balance between study/work and all else, without impacting mental health. The importance of feeling psychologically safe in the workplace was also a key topic, as well as taking opportunities to do things that scare you and thus settling into spaces with more confidence. Thank you to our panel members; Miranda Swift from Northrop Consulting, Kim Rutter from UC Electrical Department, and Julie Patterson from GHD.
We then furthered these discussions with the chance to network with more industry professionals. Thank you to all who came out to support this event and share your personal and professional wisdoms! We hope our members enjoyed themselves and could take something special away from the morning.
